We grow through life in wide eyed wonder growing day by day
never knowing what will be from yester-years and ways,
we've passed through as we traveled in our thoughts of being,
passing over, under, 'round, our many moments living.

From birth through youth into adults we seek and sort a path
to become a version of a person that well has
sought to be a part of life in choices, shapes and forms,
deciding what we will believe, dismiss, accept, transform.

In community displays of heroes, leaders, such
we learn that we are great and small, capable and reluctant,
in times when hardships and confusions take the stage to scene
all the wiles from living on with hopes and prayers and dreams.

To survive placidity where we strive to conquer
boredoms, hum drums, lies, disguise while our young minds wonder
about a grandeur, broader world waiting to be found,
waiting for the steps we make ourselves to higher grounds.

Where we learn, as we age, that greater things become
as we care and tend, apply, our basic knowledge learned
while we struggle to accept how time races to fade
taking with it all the plans we carried on our way.

Disappointed and displeased realizing time,
marched right on about its ways while inside our minds,
we planned - one day, if only, when - along in daily moments,
were displaced to make a space for needful life postponements.

Ushered in to shape our dreams, to bring them into theme,
then bring to life to live once more among our daily doings.
Ah the innocence we discover, oh our childish thinking,
play again with times before while clock hands keep on ticking,

Away the minutes we believed were wasted on in better
as our escapes from the sadness gave us strength to weather
another's scorn, another's hate, while we brought their service
leaving behind the dream child in our minds, who was the only one who deserved us.
