Poem Artwork

Mrs. McCoy said Run Spot Run,
To the wound-up, first-grade class
Baby boomers in a row;
This memory does soon pass,

Recollecting memories gone,
Drawing much closer everyday
As tape replays Go Dog Go:
What else did Doctor Seuss say?

Friends could run and
Friends could really sing
To George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord":
Today they're buried in the packed down soil.

The vivid memories will draw closer
To today, then to clear the mist,
Removing the tainted veil:
Heavens golden gates then can't be missed.

Movies of the past to ponder on
Before you'll meet with death's embrace;
Then and only then may you
Be allowed to lay down in grace.

Mother's smile and holidays
Were spent with family then,
Could not get off the phone
With that now winged, long-lost friend.

Mrs. McCoy said Run Spot Run
To the wound-up, first-grade class
Baby boomers in a row;
This memory does soon pass.

Wish I could remember as you do herein, but long term drug use = short term memory loss, or is it the other way around, I can't seem to remember for some reason...!

A beautiful offering Theresa and thanks for stopping by my "poet port" and offering me some of your comments and wisdom...Peace is the ONLY way, Ed & Rufuz (w00f)
