Life’s metamorphosis seems set to numbers
Sometimes changing colors swirl happily by
Painting outside the line set ahead for me
I sit openly by my canvas choosing colors for life
Perhaps pink was the color for the age of forty?
White was the color of my very first year here
Green with envy I wasted on very many years
Yellow was wasted on years filled with fear
I spent several years red lying out in the sun
Purple years were really quite filled with fun
Gold were the years I gave birth to my two sons
I guess my memoirs rainbow has just begun
Blue tears trailed my face at the loss of my parents
Amber glowed bright in my heart for dear Bob
Black struck the page several days on the canvas
