When a Friend of Mine asked me on how to manage his 2 Beautiful Pre-teen sons Hair,I was Suprized he didn't Know how to manage their Hair. When I suggested they Dred it.which is mostly an Afro American style.Iwas shocked when my friend who's Black has 2 son' that are Black with a spanish mother who look black but said to me that that is an Threatning hair style.Of course we got into a Flaming Racial discussion.I said so since my son is Fair 'Bright'as hes called.should he cut his hair and pass for white. This is the Political outcome of my anger to my Friend. Then of course I told him how to manage 'Black'below the shoulder Hair.He made 'Hair'a Political Disscussion....My ears are Burning now from Him!

                             HAIR

What you mean you don’t know their hair!
Going this way
That way,
all Over
their,
your 2 sons hair

Said, you want to Condition it....
Under what Conditions?

One got a huge afro, like wind dandelion blow
One got Indian, Brave down shoulder, Flow,
Both, Brothers, bouncing like basketball,

Running, pouncing, wind kite in tow.
With dem locks you can't miss we!
With dem locks you cant see we.
What you mean...
It sends the Wrong message ?

Your sons HAIR..
When seen,
I said it
Dread it, I didn't say it cause I'm a Black panther

Or was Forced to sing, the National Anthem

the wrong message ?
Who you trying to impress?
The ones that said straighten that shit,
Or press that mess.
Its less of a threat,
is what you really mean,

Which came first the fro' or the dread,
' their little white friends have Dreads, ' you said.
that's , like an empty shells with no lead,
It represents,
nothing no relation no affiliation
nothing
but a style,
And a smile
for a while .
Which came first, The Ammo,
or Sambo.
'The bush,' we’ve seen it in,
in the 60s and 70s in the Raw, like the Spook who sat by the door
Now, the Invisible Man.
'The Black liberation equitation'
' no longer threatens Caucaaasians'
' is acceptable, at social occupations'
Like, a BlacxPloytation movie
seen ,over , and over again,

The Bush ,The 'Fro'
Shows 'Pride' without aggression,
no volume Now
to accepted unanswered questions. No brain damage to selective social amnesia
Same Problems,
Equal Parts , to no Solutions,

Which came first the supremacy,
Or the Hate?
The water hoses
Or the Dogs...
The bush, the fro, represents a lost cause, Supposedly…
A safe, suspended, solitary, breath in time
that hopes to inhale .its SAFE.
But the DREAD, is another Story,
It's day hasn't come round knocking, full circle,
It's unruly,
truly,
KNOT, NEAT,
KNOTTY, NAPS, NATTY NOT TAMED
our people make you afraid? Are you afraid to Liberate?

African Culture,
African History,
the word 'AMERICAN'
like 'AFRO AMERICAN' is no where in site,
a gun site in their scope,
No marching, hope, to promote,
Political doe, sporting, politicians hoes.

Every Dread, Every lock,
A spear to throw,
to unlock Babylon’s oppression.
The Bush, withered,
but not Frail,
marching, the long journey,
Liberation never found
Sat down.
Here for the second time around
Afro got left, between
Afro and American
Left in between Blood Red, and
Black rain tears,
flooding the Streets
siren screams, police Murders, a dog barking, a kid crying from getting beat, a street kid hidin from the heat.
In
Dark Ghetto nights,
where no one sees, nothing
hears nothing
no one breathes..
Afro, between
the trigger and the sweat on the Grip, between anger, see the blood on the sleeping baby's scalp through the bullet hole in the wall.?
Nobody in the shooting gallery, can hear their mama call.
Afro Left between
The Brothers and the muscle
the Crack torch an the Hustle
number runners blade,
and homeless Frostbite
In a cardboard box.
The afro, The bush, The Fro got left between
'THEE'
LAST
POET Screaming in the Insane Asylum
' Niggahs are scared of LIBERATION '
' Niggahs are scared of LIBERATION'
' Niggahs are scared of LIBERATION '
Caught in the scratch , in Afros Past record
repeating it over
and over
until he hung himself
with the governments rope woven from multicolored assassinations.
Afro, got
picked
to Chill
With..
'the Bling-Bling' and ' Capitalists , change, jingling , 'Cha-CHING'
Sleeping, schizophrenic, Society
Believing any - thing…
Yes afro is no threat.
BUT…
Cant let the youngins forget
the laws they tearing down today
Spilled Blood, it took to get them in place.
we died,
for yesterday
And thousands more days before
we got to that day,
Wayyyy… before the signs say, no NEGROS ALLOWED
And Emmett Till Got Killed. We must be skilled

so more Brothers
don't get Killed!

If you scared of Dreads
Then you better be scared of ME…

Dreads, locks,
Got up, stood up
Picked up the fight. For their Rights.
No Question of who came first,
The Dread came with the Lead,
Him Know who he be,
African, Ancestors,
from Kings we be
I an I know !
who De enemy be.

If you scared of Dreads
Then you better be scared of ME !
Dread, Shot the Sheriff
But, he did not
Shoot the Deputy.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
