Don't Toy with Emotions
To toy with emotions is not a game,
To give of yourself then take it away,
Willingly a lover gives you their heart,
Don't take it now and tear it apart !
Play the games if you dare and choose,
Don't be surprised in the end you loose,
A chance for a thrill of what might be,
Trust and know that you will never see.
Sacred the heart you were given to keep,
Don't look around or another you seek,
Cherish the one that was given to you,
Concede if you will it is pure and true .
Remember always not to hurt and deny,
Acting blasé you could destroy and belie,
Treasures given, that you were keeper of,
You no longer entitled to share thereof !
Do you wish this fate to befall your path,
Keep the charade and you'll feel the wrath,
No longer will you hear the love and care,
You will feel all alone in dark and despair.
Tempting the fate at this point and time,
Is a sad understatement and so out of line,
Remember always the love you can count on,
Is honest, sincere, white and pure as swan.

crossed my mind. You have taken a timeless topic and turned it into
a thing of beauty, albeit with a tinge of sadness.
Yes...a heart is the most precious thing we own. But you are right,
so right, it is not a toy!
melancholy hoping I never hurt anyone, yet
knowing that sometimes love does hurt and
I have been hurt too. Excellent piece provokes
much thought.
