 Talisman ...

In fashioned moments you see the light,
other times it appears less bright,
deep in corners, in a dark hidden space,
you sit back, your fears you wont face.
 
So much angst you try and hide,
behind a veil of foolish pride, 
you wont acknowledge this gift of love,
you’re mourning now, like a soulful dove.
 
Emotions and sadness you control deep down,
like the king who feels he’s misplaced his crown,
with affection I request, you “throw down the gauntlet”,
take heed now, wear  my love like an amulet.
 
Your are the talisman that came into my life,
the one I wear with such treasure and pride,
behind facades I never have to fear or hide,
proud as ever to have you stand by my side,
 
Disparagingly, you tell me there’s no hope,
your mind’s made up, you say you can’t cope,
but love and time are healers of  the wound,
don’t submit now or your heart you'll entomb.
 
Remember this now and forever more,
I stand beside you at an open door,
I listen and care for you with love in my heart,
never fear, that from here you need ever part.
