I think you covered pretty much all of it Elga, in an exceptional write. We all have different experiences of pain but I think everyone will relate to this, which is what makes this so poigniant and sad.

Elga,

Very profound and insightful write! I can feel the pain. I agree, that physical pain can heal, sometimes not even leaving scars! But emotional pain, mental stress and anguish, inflicted deep into one's heart and soul can leave everlasting scars! Those who cut into another's heart and soul cause severe pain that can't be seen by others and often times the hurt person suffers alone and in silence. I think the worst quote that I ever heard is "Stick and Stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me!" which is better stated, "Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words can kill me!" Thanks for sharing these wise words on pain. Blessings to you. May you have a beautiful and peaceful weekend!

I know the pain you speak of Elga. I believe only people who love too mcuh experience this. Most people never go to the depths to give their all, so they are unaware of the agony lost love can cause.In today's world love is more shallow for most, so they don't have to suffer the pain. This is an excellent write on the subject though painful.

Pain is felt when reading this piece, Elga, it is palpable to the reader how the author is showing the ache of a circle/cycle that feeds on self thoughts and recriminations. It matters not so much the source, to the relativity of mind, distress compounds and compiles bleak statistics of nothingness which sinks into soul, moment by moment, day after day, and kills slowly with its weight.

Elga, I've gone through quite a bit of "mental stress" myself, and what I've learned can be summed up in two lines:

pain may have tattered wings
but will always manage to fly
