Dear Friends,

Perphaps on a bit of a philosophical note, who knows ? Life and Age ! Intrinsically woven ? Just thoughts.

warm hugs and love
Elga

Poem Artwork

Age ...

Age, what is age ?
a definition... do you care to give?
a figment an illusion,
of what we perceive !

What determines ones age...
is it that state of maturity
or advancement in years...
wisdom, without obscurity ?

What thoughts on the above,
will guide you and me,
that age is inconsequential,
and it's not all you and I see !

Some of us fortunate,
to age with some insight,
we should learn to accept,
enjoy without hindsight.

What fears do we have?
when we try to evade
hiding behind masks,
just another decade ?

Age, does it our beauty steal,
do we lose our pride and our appeal
with no trust in ourselves
or how we really feel ?

With an abundance to give,
age is so irrelevant,
do you fail to see this,
for it is all so blatant.

Understand all this,
there is love out there,
tender and willing
and ready to share.

Age unimportant,
an illusion of time,
only a figment,
deceiving the mind.

You said it all Elga, age is just how we measure the passage of our Physical time but we are ageless.

Loved this one Elga. Your last four lines say it better than I've ever heard it put.

A marvelous mind set of a poem, Elga. Although my body ages, I hope to keep the little kid inside my heart and soul as long as I possibly can.

Important message here, Elga. Well said; some of the most beautiful people I know are frail elderly.

Aging, like time, is a conception of man. We are always changing. How we accept these changes show in our hearts and souls. I think I am going to add this to my quotes :-) Thanks for the inspiration.

"Being older is not to be old. We are the same as when litte children or young adults, with some years and experiences added."
- from "A Will Of My Own," Memoir of F. William Broome.

You describe the state of mind excellently. Good writing from a keen and appreciative mind. Thank you. This is a keeper for life.

Physical age is incidental, Elga. But the best age is what we feel inside.
