Why should we Always imagine Others to be Fools,
Just because they love us?
Ama Ata Aidoo (1942– )
Touch Each New Dawn
Make the hurting stop!
To take away the heartache and pain
To calm the heart and soothe the soul
To stop these tears from falling ceaselessly
That I may once again see through clear eyes
And eradicate the constant blur
That I would give my every tear to heal your hurts
And make you whole
Complete; so that I may hold you within my arms
To feel your breath softly whisper
And thus ignite the flame
To consume both you and I
Melding as sweet liquid honey
As all the worries in the world lay discarded
Embracing life with gusto
Enveloping joy with our wills
To learn once again to laugh and smile
As we touch each new dawn
And taste the nectar of the gods
Thus fulfilling our desired emotions
The feeling of closeness
Enough to fill the chalice
That for so long has lain abandoned
That my prayers be heard
And with Gods’ love be answered
To give to you what you so deserve
The understanding
The comfort of a woman’s, loving touch
That you may fully comprehend
The unselfish heart
And love that has never once left your side
And each and every silent thought and prayer
Into your mind so deftly infiltrate
So that you may be cognizant
Appreciating acceptance
And this,
My hand of love outstretched!
