Poem Artwork

" Act When The Going Is Good "

......................................................................

I observe it all in shuttered camera images

Frame by frame, I see the Game

That one we all know as Life

Whirring psychic pictures propelled by a hidden hand

See my friend, it was all meant to happen in the end

Have you ever felt this psychedelic feeling

That we are being controlled by an unknown hand

Slide by slide precision concise

You never see the divide

But if you are like me, my companion

Awareness steals right in at the appropriate moment

And catches the instance the switch was tripped

Even though there's not a discernible sound

Visceral velvet visions distort the View

Soft pastel colors prism across the Lens

As absent loved faces flicker in and out of range, as if by grand design

Enabling me to see a clandestine connection

Between the Observer and the Observed

I watch with glinted eye for a sudden movement

That travels thrust speed from horizontal to apex

In  rapid reverse polarity

Lateral degrees distract my attention

Just as a surreptitious seam comes into view

I bow and genuflect in dignified silence

There are some things best not known

And even better, best left unsaid

Sometimes we make things a whole lot more difficult than they have to be by over-thinking them. Excellent write, Peter.
