Dear God,

I’m sitting here alone with my thoughts, well I guess not really alone as you are always near. So I was just wondering and hoping that we might have a word or two. I know you are busy lately with all the things going wrong down here on earth so I will try to be brief. As you know I am not a church going type of guy, maybe I just saw too many things wrong in all the organized religions but I won’t get into that right now. I do though still consider myself if not a Christian then a person who strives to do the right thing here on earth and I may not always succeed but I try.

Now I don’t really need to ask you for anything, I guess I am actually writing to thank you for something because I would never want you to think that I am not grateful. You see God, you blessed me with many great things in my life, parents, siblings, a wife, children and career  but this last gift you gave me was the most precious and wonderful of all. You allowed me to live long enough to see my daughters grow to be women and my two little grand daughters grow big enough that they cry when I have to go home and leave them. I love them all so much god and I love you for giving me this special gift.

Jaimie Lee and Lily are two special little girls and I think you must have plucked them from the angels wings themselves to make them so sweet even if their mothers do say (and forgive me for mentioning his name) they are little devils sometimes. Yet when I roll over and one or the other of them is laying beside me in peaceful sleep I see you God and all you stand for. I need no book, no formal prayers, no church or nobody else to tell me you are there.
