Your belated Earth Day poem and metaphor is a damned good one, my friend! We all need to start revering Earth's trees before it's too late. And since tomorrow is Arbor Day, I plan on planting a few more.

Thank goodness the schools are teaching children about the conservation of trees and the importznce to protect the Rain Forest. I recall when I was in first grade we never studied the Rain Forest. It starts with out children.

Fee - i like the tree you made -there is a good poem i read recently called 'The innocence of trees', by Bevvy at ukauthors.com where she said many things about them -i'm planting trees at the mo - plenty charities do this online if it's not pos at home, some years ago i searched Plant a Tree- those last lines are *brrr* Even when a tree it cut they contribute to life, and in my mind live, alive as shelter, table. fire, paper... -i think you are a good tree Fee, and your poems lately -well i wrote 2 musicals, one for my dad with Cash and Denver in it and then i see you wrote a musical one too, and i wrote a poem last month, Don't cut this tree! - poetry eh? A wonderful comparison to life itself for all. Yet to cut that life short seems to be such a sad shame. As a tree we grow in strength and wisdom and if used wisely we will soar.....

This works on so many levels, Felix. Our thoughts can fly away or nest in so many of your boughs... but that ccccchhhhhainsaw buzzzz at the end... my word! It is a very sad experience that so much life is ruthlessly cut short in it's prime... through sickness, misfortune or the wantoness and greed of other men/women. A metaphor for Life that will never grow thin or cease from having meaning and depth and variety. Thank you for this, Kate xx
