I am not sure if this can be classified as poetry, more a series of random thoughts that I sat reflecting on for a while tonight. It is so easy to look back and see all of our lifes the good and the bad and you know...they are all what made me who I am today and I have no real regrets...

In Youth

By: Fee

I once was young and I embraced my youth

In youth I made terrible mistakes broke hearts and had my heart broken

In youth I ran naked and made love beneath the stars in a park

In youth I squandered time…slept thru days and partied away the nights

In youth I made love and I had a child who would become my eternal little princess

In youth I burned bridges behind me always in a hurry to get somewhere else

In youth I fought with fists and anger instead of wits and the desire for understanding

In youth I thought myself invincible until reality started one day to catch up

In youth I buried parents, brothers and gave my spirit to the wind

In youth I laughed at the idea of old age…rock and roll would live forever

In youth I sailed the seas, rode the fiercest storms and walked the Arctic ice

In youth I raced and crashed cars…died a time or two and said goodbye all too often

In youth I learned…that life was all just a series of our own lessons

And looking back I can say…I was young once

Darling sentiments! Of course this is poetry, Fee. Poetry doesn't always have to rhyme and I'm so glad that you posted this. But remember; one is just as old as one feels. Who cares about numbers?

What a ride to that place that was your youth you took us to! I identified with that recklessness that is youth and it brought back many memories. It certainly is a poem!

Ah youth, I guess each of us finds the path that works for them at the time...and away we go, never looking back until we reach the age of reflections. Great write, Fee

Now you have us all thinking back through the years, which isn't a bad thing I guess. For those of us who had a good life it will make us smile and for those of us who had it rough it will make us face it and realize how our lives have bettered through the years. We live and learn over time but we never grow to old to live Felix. As long as there is a breath in our body we can live and continue making memories for yesterday is part of our past. A great write and thank you for sharing your life with us sounds like an exciting one.

Love ya face Cuz XOXO, Rose

Fee,

Your poem gives light to many memories. I look back and think of all the foolishness and say those were the days. We lived hard, fought harder and loved like no tomorrow. If we had it all to do again we probably wouldn't change a thing. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.

Fee, you still are! ! ! as long as you can ride that mean HD you have my approval to burn as many bridges as you want, fight witless as many brawls you can provoke and make love without Viagra (that's cheating) all of the above as long as you take me along (I have a mule wallop in my right and if I miss here comes a mean left that will take the sucker out of his socks)

I would most definitely call this a poem, and a great one at that dear Fee. Ah...... how sweet youth was, dangerous, irresponsible, and oh so fleeting.
