For those who have a few extra hours a week and want to do something worthwhile consider volunteering at your local school. With so many budget cutbacks the teachers will appreciate all the help they can get and working with the little ones sure supplies lots of warm fuzzy feelings...and yes that is me reading.
Forty-four Little Eyes
Forty-four little eyes gaze with wonder
Forty-four little ears strain to hear
Twenty-two minds with active imaginations
Twenty-two little hearts willing to share
A school full of kids call me “Poppy Felix”
You know, I like that title just fine
Front row centre sits my granddaughter
The blond-haired, blue-eyed Princess of mine
So on Mondays and Fridays you can find me
At the local school just doing my part
We can help meld the little minds of our future
With the love we all have in our heart…
Fee - No doubt the "Forty-four little eyes" are just as impressed with you as the "millions of eyes" here at the Den. Giving back to your community is a blessing and you are one blessed man.
This is absolutely wonderful Fee. What a lovely and loving thing to do and your granddaughter will remember it all her life. Such a special way to be together.

This is so precious Felix and so heart warming. I agree that we who can should volunteer at our local schools to read to the young children and maybe help them with a problem or two. Thank you for sharing.
