Living through the pandemic, we have all suffered but seniors do feel cheated that as are years run down...two years can be a lot of final memories made and hugs and kisses shared...

 Dying Heart

By: Fee

Give me back my world the way it was

Before I closed my eyes

To wake up to this world gone mad

Each day a cruel surprize

A world where smiles weren’t hidden

Hand shakes measured a man

Line-ups were just for special shows

Going out didn’t need a plan

Give me the world that I used to know

I can hold my loved ones tight

Where I could kiss my sweet grand-kids

Visit them to say good night

Let me go visit those I care about

If they are sick, alone, afraid

Let me pay my last respects in person

When to rest, their souls are laid

Please take my back in time before I die

To before life was sanitized in fear

Let me breathe the air the way God meant

I need to go back there

Give me back this world that changed forever

I’m an old man grieving what it cost

Cheated and betrayed in my closing years

All the hugs and kisses I have lost…

I know how you feel. Times seemed so much simpler then. Though I suppose I see them through the lens of a child. For the young it was simpler. No worries about jobs or making ends meet. A guerilla was a gorilla and nobody had heard of groups like Al Queda or ISIS. I miss the innocence.

Your plea is like a prayer... ...and of course, it is most apt and timely. Love, peace, and best wishes to you, Fee,

Your words really touched my heart…I empathise with
everything you say so touchingly and eloquently…
Here in the UK we were promised that on 21st June, all
Restrictions would be lifted…but we are expecting the
Prime Minister to tell us later today it’s not going to
happen…probably at least for another month…and even then
things won’t be the same…
As we get older we feel our days
are precious, and it feels like we are being deprived of the
Things that light up our Hearts and lives…I am able to
see my kids and Grandchildren now fortunately…that was the
hardest deprivation…I hope things change very soon for
You Fee…and you can make up for all those lost hugs and
Kisses..
Sending e-hugs…
Diana…
