Poem Artwork

in that wild maze
of blankets, I tangle
my flesh with yours,
like a saguaro, I have
held my pleat together
tightly after years without
rain,

at dusk, in the
rug room at the
Bluesage Trading Post,
I trade my celibacy for your
pledge of authenticity, I lie here
on the Two Grey Hills design.
the snow geese splitting the wideness
of the sky, I spread my V-flight wedge,

the currency of the
day is beaver, there
are no other trade goods
necessary for survival of the
Bluesage Trading Post wintering
partners...

I trade my celibacy for your
pledge of authenticity

Yes, it would take such a pledge, but also the sense that the other is sincere. You've hit the core of intimate relations among the spiritually mature, Sage, and as others have noted, your imagery is remarkable in this poem. ~~Nordette

If I had the cloths of heaven I would spread them at your feet. Tread carefully as you tread on my dreams. A little snatch of W.B. Yeats for you Sage. The cloths of heaven, the Bluesage rugs, it's all spun gold to me. And beaver is such a North American expression -funny, too. The lady complained there were no beaver shots. Well, she didn't bring a camera! :-))) How lovely to be wrapped up, rolled up like a carpet, and sent flying by the touch of another.

Sounds like you couldn't get a better deal...for your currency that is ;) Superb vivid imagery could only make me say something as dumb as my first sentence lol. Suffice to say I'm in awe of your talent Sage, you consitantly deliver the most delicious tales.

The happless victim of Killer Kate
(whoo-hoo! What a way to go lol)
soon to be rising (metaphorically) again soon

The imagery contributes to the mood created within your verses and thus is the meaning of this write imprinted upon the soul of the reader. Thank you, Sage. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Through the Amazon by S. Oliver Eldridge

The drug called "The Shari" has been used for vision quests over many years. But, when all the rivers start drying up, the tribe must send a young hunter named Tomás on a much more important trip through the Amazon.
