I was prompted to write this poem after reading, "Lady in The Rain" by Mr. Ed on Author's Den. We have two wonderful cats who would probably be in the rain today if we did not take them home. They filled our home with so much love and character. I could not imagine our cats being anywhere but right where they are - in our home. What a joy it has been - I just want to share this poetic joyful poem with those who think having a pet is a burden or too much care. We only go around once in life - we might as well fill our world with lots of love. Mr. Ed on Author's Den is such an extraordinary person, but I really wish it were not so. For if each of us took in just one pet then there would be a home for all pets to live and grow. They bring so much joy, attention and love with just a little care. People should be standing on lines to adopt these pets who are filled with love, all over the world, everywhere! My wife Liz, and I have two wonderful cats who were once strays. We love them like our own kids, all of the time, everyday! ...yet as the night falls and the animals fall in to the clutches of mr ed, beware of what you eat from the butchers that you eat in pies and bread.

Thanks so very much John, for highlighting the plight of America's numerous innocent and left behind homeless pets today, and Kudos to you and your spouse for sharing your home with your two former stray cats.

I and so many other animal rescuers and lovers throughout America would truly rejoice if everyone took your advice, and took in just one pet.
