De-Stress with a Pet

A series of poems by Mr. Ed prompted me to write this poem.

Poem Artwork

I try to de-stress all I can and be worry free throughout the day

But I must share that my pet Sammy-boy teaches me to de-stress in so many ways!

He teaches me to be still, be in the moment, relax and listen to a breath of air.

After taking a few breaths with my Sammy-boy I don't worry about anything and I don't have a care.

So if anyone wants to de-stress

Mr.Ed got the cure so don't wait and do not stall

The pet shelter is the right place to call

We all need a pet to relax, enjoy life with God's animals,

They are made with His pure love after all.

Amen Copyright 2015, John Michael Domino

There is a reason why they're called a pet. Everybody loves petting (except fathers of teenage girls who get petted). So regardless if you have a friendly animal around or a friendly animal of the same species, give that animal a pet and they will be eternally grateful.

I have a pet dog which only I can see. What a company he makes. The day I go, he'll go with me.

I like my pets, we have a dog and a cat, but I wouldn't say they have made our life de-stressed. Number 1, they're a lot of work. Number 2, They are expensive. Vet bills alone can break you. Some people are responsible pet owners, while many others have no business owning a pet. And by the way, our dog was adopted, and our cat was a roadside rescue. If anybody is thinking about getting a pet, they should consider what's involved before taking such a big step.

I would love to have two dogs but that would stress out the one I have as he is the King of the house. Nothing like having a dog to keep you happy.

Amen, my friend, Amen. Pets are made with Pure Love - and they give it unconditionally. I couldn't even imagine living without them.

And I couldn't agree more - Adopt, Don't Shop - for your next loving pet.
