A poem with a message that should be read everywhere across this great land. This little thing of "cutting back," and more than just eating for the sake of eating, would make us feel like we were, "great again."
I remember as a teenager, competing with my brother and my father at the dinner table, consuming mass quantities with no apparent affect on my skinny waistline. But I learned weight control (not binge and starve like my contemporaries) in wrestling. It also helped to be cheap and not want to spend a lot on expensive foods like desserts and pizza. So, I changed my diet, avoiding eating out whenever I had a kitchen to cook in, and generally, kept my waistline at 30.5 inches for the next 30 years.
It is harder now with tempting food all around and the inability to exercise, but I keep cutting back and may end up eating no meals at all--just healthy snacks.
