THEY Don't Understand US and Our Pets

Some folks just don't understand the LOVE our pets bring to US. That's pretty sad...

Somebody’s pet died today and sadness came over me

But THEY say that it’s silly because it was just a cat or dog

But THEY do not know how special a pet can be

THEY really don't know because THEY live in a dense fog


It matters to US when a pet stops living, expires and dies.

It hurts US if it's a cat, hamster, turtle or a bird that fly's.

 

What once brought much joy, comfort and love is now gone away to Heaven above.

To US this is what REAL life is all about!

Caring and sharing compassion with a pet to LOVE !

I know my black labs were my babies. I don't have any kids and they filled that void. When they each passed on, a piece of my heart was buried with them. Some people just don't understand because they've never loved that way.

I had a little rascal, but obedient and smart, Pomeranian for about 10 years. He was devoted to me but I made him a member of my pack and made it a point not to spoil or coddle him so he stayed healthy and happy. He died tragically after being attacked by a big dog. It was very sad for me and I wrote a story about it here, Jazz's Death. I can't take care of a pet and protect it from dangers like that, so I never got another.

Don't get me wrong. I have pets, and I've always had pets. They do become a part of our lives, and when they die, it can be heartbreaking. But some people go way overboard when it happens. Pet cemeteries, cremation, and even having a pet stuffed and displayed. I'm sorry, but that's going a little to far in my book.

I know it's a matter of time when my yorkie/schnauzer mix dies, or actually I may even go before her. That would most definitely be sad. All she has ever known is me.
