I find the clouds intoxicating this time of year. They seem to move higher in the sky and then, just a quickly lower themselves to create a ceiling above our heads. When you look from one angle, you see white fluffy puffs of clouds that really do resemble the breath of God. From another angle, especially as you find them directly overhead they look like a gray ceiling hanging over you and shutting out the sunshine. If you take the time to watch, this is a beautiful pageant.

I See Clouds

I was driving home today and I watched the clouds which seemed to move away.

But they were not moving away for I was driving under them them on the cool autumn day.

Yet it looked like they were running from me and my car.

It was as if they actually thought I could go where they are.

They were floating high in the heavens above

Protected by God and his almighty love.

Yet they seemed as if they thought they were being chased

As they floated above with a beauty too glorious to be erased.

I found myself calling to them to stay and paint the sky.

It was a beautiful picture resembling the breath of God given with a sigh.

They mingled with each other and stood apart from the blue stratosphere.

So fluffy and full like cotton candy but floating away as if in fear.

Eventually I drove under these beautiful pieces of God’s creation.

The clouds grew darker and sky relented its color of blue as if in agitation.

And as I drove on the sky was now gray for I had driven under the clouds, then.

Autumn is like that.  The weather changes so quickly and I watched as the wind

Blew across the land and caressed the trees causing them to wave to the sky.

The leaves were blowing from the trees, glancing across my windshield as they flew by.

The day that started cloudy had become clear and bright

And then just as suddenly took on the essence of night.

Autumn is like that.  It is a time of constant change of the atmosphere

It prepares the way for winter when we celebrate holidays with those we hold dear.

I'm a cloud watcher. Well, I used to be, and you are right on about the darn things. Sometimes I would see something so fantastic I wanted to freeze it there for eternity, but then, if that happened the cycle would be unbalanced. Godd one.

Hey Lew, This is good. I was doing the same think yesterday as my hubby and I drove to and from the grocery store. You describe the exact same sky with the variegated color scheme. I was mesmerized, too! There something captivating about clouds...just love to look at them. Yes, God is good. "The heavens declare the glory of God..."

God Bless you, my friend
