Heat wave!

Its ninety degrees outside today. My wife and I were out for a while this morning with one of our grandchildren. The heat finally caused us to bring the little one and ourselves inside to take advantage of the air conditioning.

Poem Artwork

Spring is still here but it feels like summer as the heat begins to rise.

I watch as it moves steadily upward but this should be no surprise.

Seventy degrees is comfortable and the clouds float lazily by.

The next day the mercury hit eighty and now they have moved higher in the sky.

80 soon comes and goes and today it has hit ninety degrees.

And there is nothing to comfort us, not even a soft cool breeze.

The clouds are nowhere to be found and we sit under the burning sun.

The placid blue sky now has lost its color for spring has made its run.

Somehow I do not mind the heat for I sit beneath a tree.

I am protected from the burning sun so it does not bother me.

Summer will make its self known until its time has come to an end.

When the autumn breeze once again appears cooler temperatures it will send.

Come winter, summer, and spring or fall… God’s Glory is always known.

It shows itself in the spring and fall breeze… the summer sun and even when the winter wind has blown.

Enjoyed the write my friend, and the photo was beautiful!

Lew, I have learned to enjoy the weather whatever the temperature. The important thing is that I'm alive to enjoy yet another day. Keep writing, my friend; bet you can do a lot of creative writing sitting beneath a tree!

God Bless
Lena :)
