I watch my grandchild at play and I cannot help but think that this is as close to perpetual motion as one can come.

Poem Artwork

He has an everlasting source of energy and a curiosity that is blooming without cease.

His activities are continually occurring and his antics are spurred by the curiosity without release.

His movement from room to room shows it’s affects as everything within his path is displaced.

He is continually changing the order of things as throughout the house he has raced.

But if you watch you see his mind blooming, learning as it continues to grow and expand.

I find that I many times envy him his energy because for me it is tiresome just to stand.

I watch him going to and fro and I find that simply by watching I grow tired.

But he never seems to tire for he is continuously wired.

Lew, love this one...you painted the image of a small child without any fear in the world... In a world of his own having fun...Getting old is a bummer sometimes...If we could only go back for a moment...

I enjoyed this poem because I have a little nephew that this describes to a T!
Lew, you have managed to capture the energy of that youth in your poem, and that is a great acomplishment.

a fellow poet, -Zach :)
