My recent trip to the hospital turned out to be quite an adventure. They told Chemodiasis could cause me to see hallutionations but I never expected this.

Poem Artwork

I was in a strange world where nothing was the same.

There is no reason for this and no one for me to blame.

I saw things and said things that even I don’t understand now.

My wife sat right beside yet she was not where I was somehow.

“Do you hear music?” I would ask but there was no music there.

She saw not the images I would see as I lay in the hospital and stare.

I gazed out the window at the smoke stacks and thought I smelled smoke.

It made my eyes burn and I thought I would surely choke.

But the blackened windows I thought I saw were really squeaky clear.

My wife simply comforted me not wishing to trouble the one that she held dear.

“There is a rabbit in this room” I adamantly declared.

She wanted to say there is no rabbit but did not know if she dared.

She sat for weeks as I went through imaginative adventure after adventurer.

Though she was with me she could no go where I went and these things were unseen by her.

Then the adventures were over and I came home to her that day.

She sighed a prayed a prayer of relief saying, “I hope you are home to stay.”

Wow! Strange! Sometimes certain medications affect one that way. Who knows what happens? I bet you're glad to be back to a more "normal" state of mind again. I'm wishing you, speedy and easy healing!

Yes - I know what you mean. I get these kind of dreams too even tho I am not having surgery. My dreams help me on my journey toward God I believe they do come from the unconscious mind and are meant to help us. I write from my dreans and I cherish those that are clear and give me a message. Glad you made it back! And I can relate. Once when I had surgery, I saw and heard things that I still cannot believe!
