It once held sleeping babies but they have since outgrown

It held them safe under a swaddling blanket in a world they had not yet known.

Now it sits in our bedroom and it still sits there for them.

It is piled full of toys and things for either her or him.

My wife shops for Christmas all year long and the population in the crib then rises.

So when Christmas morning comes along the little ones will have plenty of surprises.

Helicopters and G.I Joes, and doll babies for the girls.

We will cherish each sparking smile as they enter our Christmas world.

Oh, what joy will spread on their heavenly faces as they unwrap each Christmas present.

The giggling sounds and tearing paper are sounds I find quite pleasant.

Because Grandma did not wait for Christmas season to do her Christmas shopping

She simply sets back and enjoys the season while everyone else is hopping.

To each and every Christmas shopper she wishes a happy holiday season.

It is all the more pleasant a time to her and now you know the reason.
