They knew him not!

They had praise him and revered him

But now they claimed they knew not this man.

They had promised their never dyeing love

But now they cursed and swore by heaven above

That they knew this man not nor for what it is that he stands.

As he hung there upon the cross he was jeered by the crowd.

“Crucify him, Crucify him,” they had yelled out in voices loud.

It was then that he cried out and sky turned dark for sun gave no light

And the sky turned black as if it were the darkest night.

“Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

“These people know me not for they have strayed away from you.”

Then the lightning flashed and the thunder roared and he gave up the ghost.

Mourn him not my sisters and brothers for he is joined by the Heavenly Host.

He has risen!
