Mississippi Mud Pie

Along with a friend I used to visit a restaurant just down the street.

It was about lunchtime when we would stop there and eat.

They served the best fried chicken I had ever eaten anywhere.

However it wasn’t the chicken that beckoned us there.

It was desert that we never would deny

For it was then that they would offer to us Mississippi Mudpie.

Mississippi Mudpie, you see is a chocolate cream pie.

It was certainly a favorite of Ronnie and I.

Oh, we enjoyed the chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy to eat.

But, it was the Mississippi Mudpie that was our favorite treat.

Umm, we would moan as we savored the taste.

This was one part of the meal that would not go to waste.

Order what you will from their menu but save room for the Mudpie.

“Oooh, this is good,” Ronnie and I would both sigh
