Psalm 31

His ear is turned to me today and always

He comes quickly to my rescue

My Heavenly father’s son, a fortress to guide me through my days

He is my rock and fortress, my God and my guide

Into your hands my spirit is committed through all my days

I rejoice in your love for you knew my souls anguish and rescued me from my impure ways

I stand steadfast, sheltered from my enemy’s power

For I prayed, “Be merciful to me in my distress,” and you guided me though my weakest hour

I trust in you, O Lord for my days are in your hands

Your face shines upon me and you give me faith that withstands

I pray with thankfulness for your goodness is great

I worship you with more reverence than mere words can state

For even when I felt cut off from your sight

I was protected for I was walking within you light

So I cry out, “Love the Lord, all his saints,” he preserves the faithful

However, the proud he pays back in full

All you, who hope in the Lord, be strong and take heart

Live for the day when we see him in full and not just in part.
