I do not have energy to hold a grudge about something that is over and in the past
It simply takes too much energy to make those memories last
Old wounds heal and are not important enough for me to drive myself crazy
Oh maybe you may think that this old fool is just too doggone lazy
Somehow I would rather concentrate on memories that are worth keeping
For they are a source of joy and much more fun than to spend time weeping
The joyful memories that I conjure up are a source of happiness you see
And those happy memories are wonderful gifts sent from God to me
