Power-packed write, Ron. Like so many of our day, what began for good, ends as an utter debacle...my heart goes ut to their families, though, and those who were devastated by their selfish actions.
Is it though just a success to live,
Is it as well the same to others to give,
That lady was a teacher giving of her talents,
That man was a thief, soon to in the joint live,
Both a success in some way, I don't mean to be glib,
But unfortunately that is the way I am, though I am quite content...ed
It always amazes me that people who have more want more and then more again although their time isn't exposed to change the fact of aging. Why get it all at such a great pace that you never enjoy it? Greed is why so many fall to this fate and then what happend...death and it come just like the street people...just as direct and just as fatal. The Egyptians thought you could take it wth you and the tombs are still full of dust and property that never made it.

never was one to proclaim one's own success,
unless the success is the "Contentment"
in one's mind.
If we don't take time to enjoy our life and absorb all the beauty that colors the earth, can we honestly say that we have lived? Success cannot be measured only in terms of money and business it must be measured in the way we live and how our heart grows with compassion and love. Money rules our world, and that being truth, we tend to judge success by money and fame also. Nice work, Ron, I really like this poem, love the rhyme too!

Excellent poem Ron! You made great points! However truth is we all know the pros and cons of success, so those who seek it should be prepared for what it brings both good and bad! Besides people love to bring those who succeed down, a sad but very big part of our culture.

Like Keating, he professed to be a devoute Christian, and paraded a minister along with him to court, to vouch for him. Keating played the same game.
