For a starving artist friend…
… it’s not the snow, it’s the cold‘ll get ya.

Poem Artwork

How far the spring?
I shan't not know.
For I am ensconced,
in deepening snow.

Winter drags on,
and tears at my soul.
My legs are like stumps,
numb feet have no goal.

I must keep the wind,
to my back.
swoops down to kill me,
in a sneak attack.

My food almost gone,
winter rages on.
I'm trapped in the snow,
with nowhere to go.

And the cold seeps in,
my coverlet of skin.
Until I think I may die,
before the spring sky,

Nourishes me again.

the cold and the cracked fingers that have even made playing piano a trial... How Far? even here in the "sunshine state" - still too far for my budget!

This is great Ron.
I was totally touched.
There are levels of meaning
in this past the obvious.
Blessings ...

Ron, the image you posted with your poem is much like the view in my are of the country -- snow, deep and extending in every direction as far as the eye can see -- and later today,we are expecting another snowfall -- at this point all I can say is that snow is breathtakingly beautiful -- it is not however, easy to travel in -- so I await, "the spring sky" -- a beautiful poem my friend -- may joy be yours this day -- Jon Michael

Thats what I keep asking, "How far the Spring?"...I am SOOOOO tired of winter and snow since this year we got more than our usual share of the white stuff...ed (We have had winters in past years where it stayed in the 60's all winter, not this year)

It has been a cold winter this year but I haven't seemed to mind it much. It is mild here in New Mexico compared to other places I have lived. Here the snow is like what you might think you would find at Disneyland It blankets the ground in the morning then melts away leaving only the mountains covered in winter white. I have to admit, I felt cold deep in my bones reading your words. Nice work.
Take care,
Sherry

Prayers are the answer when home bound. This season places that usually do not get much snow are in snowed in. Areas where snow is plentiful have not been hit that hard this winter. A very nice poem I enjoyed it.

GOD BLESS
Tony
