While I have the same emotions as everyone,
I'm not very emotional. However, I do find that
there are emotional people all around me and
that actors in good dramas are very good at
displaying emotion. Here is my take on that...

 Ocean of Emotion

Overflowing like a volcano,
wondering where the anger came,
with regrets hanging in the aftermath,
the tragic results remain the same.

It's crying time again,
but there isn't any rain.
Crying just comes natural,
even without any pain.

Smiling like there was sunshine,
shining on the fruited plain,
but there was only disruption function,
through the window of the rain.

The future is bright and sunny,
the shirking sad and gray.
Everything outside is growing,
while the inside is fading away.

The whirlwind of romance,
has created a wonderful trance.
Until reality comes crashing down,
ending the devotional dance.

Anguish has no answers,
and hatred has no bounds,
the turmoil we create ourselves,
calls out the baying hounds.

Emotion is a potion,
both weak and strong combined,
boils over in our devotion,
to benign and tortured mind.

Lightning is an essential release of power to re-energize the planet. Your planet is your soul and it needs to release itself in anger as well as sorrow and happiness. Depends of the weather up there in your head. Spoken well, Ronald!

Emotions, without them we would be like " The Body Snatchers, ".
Love, hate, joyous, etc...emotions are the witness to our being.
Excellent!!

Ron

You had me hooked immediately with the synopsis. Until I my ship went aground on the rocky shoreline, I was way too stoic, while my head might be messing with me. This is a perfect example of your usual perfect mix of rhyme and meter. I am back with a vengeance after a long dry spell. "The lights in the harbor (bum, bum bum), don't shine for me; I'm a lost ship on the ocean, adrift on the sea, Sea of Heartbreak...." - sung by J. Cash.

Ronald what a great poem. Anguish, hatred, turmoil equal to the hounds of the lower bay.

It is true, some to create their own torture in their minds. paranoia, delusions. I had a talk with someone and was honest and let her know that what she was doing was creating all her own problems in her own head. She took a step back and realized, Oh crap, I am. Then she began to stop it. Recognize what triggered it, her own minds games she played with herself. Once she stopped, life became a lot simpler and a lot less emotional. Some emotions are rational and some are not. But unless some one comes to you and asks for help, stay out of it, because you don't know what type of mind your dealing with.

There are various types of mental illness, some created by the environment the person was raised in, chemical imbalances, etc. Yes, you have the drama queens and kings, both genders. And you have some as Amor Sabor stated so wisely, "While some are adept at hiding these emotions...they do not go away...they are just masked."

I was reading recently that emotion is led by our belief system...I had never really thought along those lines, thinking that they just happened spontaneously....but there is this underlying sifting in sub conscious going on....I f we change our beliefs...then we can change our emotions...As someone who has been (often painfully) led by emotion, This was a revelation...
I truly enjoyed reading this, and loved the ocean image too...

We can hide behind them,
or wear them on our sleeve.
An ocean of emotion,
what a tangled web we weave.

Well Done.

Well, OK emotionless guy. As for me I'll take the bashing of heads, the slobbery kisses, the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat; the stalking, the murdering bastards, and the knight in shining armor who comes riding in and rescues the damsel in distress. Even that flower girl in My Fair Lady shouted to who would be lover boy "Don't tell me, show me!"

Emotions are the fuel of the human soul and heart. While some are adept at hiding these emotions...they do not go away...they are just masked. We must also try to understand our emotions and hope we do not become so bitter that we taint our view of the world. The world already taints itself. Then there are others who use other peoples emotions to their advantage. Those we must avoid at all costs for the damage they do in our lives. Then, there is love and romance that does the most damage of all when it goes astray or when friendship is betrayed.
This is an excellent write describing and defining emotions and your words do it justice. The rhyme and meter make this poem stand out. So very well done, Ron

I will be the first to admit that I am an emotional person. I always have been. Sometimes I feel it is a curse to have to display to the world that my life is filled with sunshine, when on the inside, everything seems dark and gray. To most people I am "the good actor," but to those with whom I am very close, they cannot be fooled. They can detect the real me in a heartbeat. If I have misinterpreted your poem, please forgive me, but what I have stated is what is in it for me. Regardless of whether or not I have interpreted it correctly, its words and rhyme are beautiful, and it beats like a drum. This is another good one, Ron. In fact, I believe it is one of your best.
