I'm a happy camper. Just had this dream
of a poem I just had to write down and it
happened to be raining today.

Rain

There is rain on the pane,
of the window to my soul.
It streaks down my senses,
and blurs my every goal.

Rain chills my composure,
and steals my resolve.
A hypothermic measure,
as my thoughts revolve.

Rain cascades down,
and soaks my existence,
stealing my patience,
and lowering my resistance.

Those tears from heaven,
leave nothing but sad,
And torture me endless,
with the loss that I've had.

Will the rain ever stop falling,
on this lifetime of grief?
Or wash up waterlogged flotsam,
on some far distant reef?

In time, I know the rain will cease,
the sun will peek out to warm the heart,
replenish the land with a fertile ease,
and I'll begin to make a new start.

I love the rain or any inclement weather as long I am inside of my home or car, not getting soaked or otherwise inundated...-e- (how did I miss this one, oh this was written in February last, as I was in the hospital at that time...)

THANK GOD...RAIN DOESN'T LAST FOREVER, BUT, AS YOU SO POETICALLY INDICATED, IT IS 'SO' NECESSARY. FOR AFTER...THE RAIN...WE ARE ABLE TO SEE THINGS CLEARER AND, INDEED, 'NEW'...BEGINNINGS ARE FORGED. AND IT GOES ON...THAT'S THE WAY WE 'CLIMB'...AFTER THE RAIN, WITH THE SON. A SATISFYING WORK, DONE SO WELL. THANK YOU, RON. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND MUCH FAITH TO YOU...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Wonderful write about yourself, Ron. This is one of your best yet, I think. It moves bravely down the page from the beginning two powerful lines: "There is rain on the pane/of the window to my soul." That is a great opening to a remarkable poem. "And torture me endless,/with the loss that I've had." So much for readers here, relating to those two lines. ~~ Diana

Rain may perceived as gloomy, but its rythm of sound and the refreshed feeling it gives to one - knowing that it will wash away the sadness - is worth the cleansing in one's soul.

Wonderful write about the rain! Sometimes our inspiration would come to us when we least expect it.

Oh my goodness Ron this is beautiful! Although I felt your pain in this write, I feel your beauty of the words written. I too have felt this way when I wrote "For Such a Time as This".
This one left me with hope and knowing I too can have the sun peak through and warm my heart.

Thank you for sharing!

Ron, you have expressed my sentiments exactly. Although I realize that water is necessary to sustain life, rain is still a downer for my soul. I particularly dislike the rains of winter months that bring darkness, gloom, and a muddy landscape. On the other hand, spring rain brings newness of life. Gray turns to green, daffodils work their way out of the ground and produce unequaled beauty, and even yellow dandelions dot the earth with tencer burrs of sunshine. I could go on and on about these two contrasting seasons, both affecting my spirit in different ways simply because of rain. Hope I've made a little sense here with my rambling. Nice work, Ron.

I for one would love some rain right now; we're bracing for yet another big snowstorm today.

Ron,

I'm glad there is a silver lining at the end of the 'rain'. I love rain, to me its peaceful. Instead of rain I had alot of snow this week!!!! I love to watch it falling, but once its down it can GO. Excellent poetry, Ron.

Love and blessings,
Linda

Nicely expressed poem Ron! Rain in Washington state makes me depressed because it's a constant drip the seems to never end. The rain in Florida pours down big silver dollar drops but hardly ever last more than a day. I will take Florida rain any day! Amen!

Rain can signify so many things. Loss and grieving, etc, etc.. I'd rather connect it to renewal myself. It is necessary to life. I see you make that connection too. I enjoyed reding this one Ron. Bob

Smaller pockets of joy and sadness and feelings of reflection, bound up kinetic energy obit-ed and resurrected into new life again. This is hypothalamically and conversationally thermodynamically well received with me soaked and enlivened by the drops of empathy in Rain by you. Thanks, Ron, for this refreshing poem.

I, for one, love the rain, but I have a feeling this poem has other ramifications, but I could be wrong. Even so, to know that the sun will eventually shine and bring about a rejuvenation warms my soul.
