Feeling a bit underpowered to deal with things coming very rapidly and trying to get all of them handled… Things will get better tomorrow. ;-)

Powerless and Deflated

Have you ever had one of those days?
When everything seems to be going sideways?

When every time you have something solved,
a new problem arises that's unresolved.

When you've tried and tried, and tried again,
and finally gave up fricasseeing that fried hen.

You hand over the job to someone else to do,
they don't do it very well, or stick it to you.

Friends are very encouraging but don't lend a hand,
they are fair weather friends that won't take a stand.

Constant changes that don't make any sense,
leading to going backward as recompense.

Like changing your underwear with your neighbor,
in a new form of keeping up with the Joneses there.

Why are we fixing what is already good?
Are we just chasing a fad in the neighborhood?

With all this commotion, one runs out of steam.
How to give up the ghost, without losing esteem.

When we run out of power, we have to give some up,
the question is, to who? And, how much to cough up.

Everything has its price, and the escalating tide,
takes everything you have, to stay in the ride.

I KNOW SOMEONE WHO LOVES YOU AND SACRIFICED ALL 'FOR YOU ALONE'. HE'LL TAKE CARE OF 'FRYING THAT HEN' AND ANY OTHERS THAT COME ALONG. AND IN AS FAR AS THE 'PRICE' IS CONCERNED? ALL HE WANTS IS YOU! HE KNOWS YOU CAN'T BE PERFECT BUT...TO 'TRY' TO LOVE HIM IN RETURN...IS ALL HE WANTS. OH, RONALD I AM SO GLAD TO REALIZE THAT, WITHOUT 'HIM', I AM POWERLESS AND DEFLATED, NOT JUST ONE DAY, BUT EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE! AND YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE I RECOGNIZE THAT ONLY WHEN I CAN EMBRACE MY INSIGNIFICANCE BEFORE HIM, CAN I EMBRACE MY SIGNIFICANCE...TO HIM! I DON'T HAVE TO CALL HIS NAME, I KNOW YOU KNOW WHO 'HE' IS. I LOVE YOU! BLESSINGS, MY FRIEND AND MUCH FAITH, OVERFLOWING, IN ABUNDANCE... TO YOU...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

There are days when it takes so much to stay in the game and keep it real, I agree with you. Ron, I will send you a mail, let know when you receive it, M.

We need new gutters. My parents had the same ones and I was born and raised there. Everything's so cheap. I'm feelin' you on this one.

Love ya!

Yes, Ron, we all have had those days...time to change your routine..
have a date with mother nature or go on a vacation.

Always,

Do I ever know where you're coming from. I'm always in some kind of dilemma about something. But I really think my skills are sharpened when I feel the pressure. I may get grouchy at times, but things get accomplished. Presently, I am fighting with my air conditioner, and it's going to cost a bundle of money to get it fixed. One more thing: before I finished writing this review I hit the button to post it. So, I had to go into My Den in order to finish what I intended to say. I enjoyed this piece immensely, Ron.

Ron,

Hope you can take care of your copyright issues. Your poem got it right--it's usually a pile up of one thing after another that takes precedence.

Reminds me of so many days.
Thankful today so far has been quiet.
One good day at a time.

Gosh do I know what you mean. An annual visit to the PCP just turned into 4 'ologists'! Because of that, I will need to see an 'ist', as in psychiatrist. Probably won't do any of them. Hope you still have some good help.

No health issues. The Library of Congress has contacted me with problems with two of my formal copyright requests. It is something that I intended to take care of over a week ago. But so much shit has hit the fan since that I haven't had time to get at this very important thing before my 30 days are up and I won't be able to get it corrected. I hope they don't think that my original work came from somebody else? On my autobiography?

Yup! Happens to me on a fairly regular basis, Ron. When it gets so bad I begin to think of pouring a glass of cheap California burgundy. But no! I've never fallen for that trap. Eight o'clock is when I take to the wine. Two glasses, that's all. By then my overriding problem has pretty much seen fit to resolve itself.

We all tend to over inflate our problems, and make them seem bigger than they are. This in turn leaves us deflated. And then there's the Patriots, who do know a thing or two about deflating, but are far from being powerless.

So well penned and familiar to me.
Like coffee in my cup which should have been tea.

Just back from a tour of the Western Isles in Scotland with my two Vermont friends. Poor Larry has Alzheimer's disease. We visited my ancestral home at Castle Duart on Mull where many men were wearing kilts. Then Larry set off to the loo. He entered the Ladies and I ran after him but it was too late. When he came out, I told him he had been in the ladies toilet. 'No I wasn't ' he replied. 'I'm in Scotland where they wear kilts. That's what the symbol showed.'

Ron ... the pic is apropos !

Well penned ! Not unlike Football ...
Sometimes we are just forced to ...
"Drop Back Five & Punt!"

Oft-times, Persistance and Determination are
absolutely thwarted by Frustration ...
When this happens to me, a bystander may hear ...
"SHIT - SHIT - SHIT !!! "

Hope you are well, my Friend. 😻 Tom ... as in Kat 😻

I guess to "Stay in the ride" is the operative phrase here, as far too often, there is an attempt to coerce our will to fit something or someone else's desire. Yes, giving up power and to whom is a daunting conundrum, one that often takes the form of acquiescing for the wrong reason. Well thought out piece, this.
