I guess I won't be able to be considered a "crap detector" as I usually just disregard taking pics when there might be something to see. I don't usually come along till after the fact so I would just be repeating whatever I see & I am wont to participate in video fever that I think affects alot...-e-

ATROCITIES...NATURAL AND OTHER WISE 'ARE' ON THE RISE. AND THEY ARE SO TERRIBLY PREVALENT THAT MOST DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE THEM. THE ABILITY TO DECIPHER WHAT IS REAL AND WHAT ISN'T IS DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE THAT WOULD RATHER TOSS 'REALITY' INTO A 'FICTITIOUS' WASTE BIN RATHER THAN, AT LEAST, TRY TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE 'DESTRUCTION' THAT LOOMS ALL AROUND US. YOU KNOW WHERE I'M AT RON, I GO BY THE WORD. SO, FOR ME, THE END 'IS' NEAR AND EVERYTHING I SEE AND 'HEAR' COINCIDES WITH THIS BIBLICAL PROPHECY. BUT I DON'T FEAR OR WORRY ABOUT IT. BELIEVE ME, THERE'S TOO MANY OTHER PERSONAL THINGS FOR ME TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT BUT EVEN THEM, PRAISE GOD...THE 'EDGE' HAS BEEN ALLEVIATED, QUITE A BIT. BECAUSE...GOD...IS STILL TOTALLY IN CHARGE OF E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G AND ...'I WAIT'.

I agree, Ron! It seems like everyone is a "reporter" especially with the advent of the smart phones! Videos, fake videos, and the like certainly are on the rise. I ignore most of it but not all of it. 'Reminds me of the song, "Dirty Laundry"......(Don Henley?)

Not sure about the "keener eye and ear." We have instantaneous way to report what we see and hear, but I am not sure our perceptions are any better than before when we didn't have these facilities. In fact, I see a lot of rubbish on the internet, on social media, and wherever I go, people are soaking it up as they thumb through the screen on their "smart phones". For the record, I don't have a smart phone. Still not convinced I need one.

You capture the reality of the dilemma in which we are mired today. There is a raw beauty to some of the ways that instant information is shared, but it is a very dangerous thing because it is abused almost as much as used properly.

I'm tempted to pen a poem titled 'The Anchor with a canker' in reply, but I'll admirably throttle the urge, out of deference to your readers, Ron. Still, I wonder...perhaps 'The Anchor was a wanker...naw! ...with a canker on his wanker-?..nope. Hmmmm. At any rate, as the hoary old Tanganyikan joke has it, "No Gnus is good Gnus." Then there was William Randolph Hearst's famed journalism creedo, "All the Gnus to fit that'll print." As for the readers and viewers themselves, bless 'em, "What feuds these morons be!" Er, um, ah...say g'night, K2. Goodnight sweat prints...

That's because people have access to the internet, and they would post something to get an instant release of what they know to others. The reporters nowadays have very little to do, some even post fake news to mislead the public. They are not as trustworthy as the reporters from the old days.
