Reaching the Top
There is something about climbing a mountain,
whether it be actually or metaphorically true .
That gives one great inner satisfaction,
when you finally get there and can view.
All that lays out before you above and below,
a better understanding of the stars above,
and of the giants you are standing on,
whose shoulders steadfast with their love.
Enable you to climb higher than you could,
higher than the original goal you set.
But there is no easy way to arrive there,
without getting very tired, cold and wet.
From the top you can see more clearly,
the beauty of the sunrise and sunset.
Cold clear air clears thoughts and mind,
allowing some of your best creations yet.
Keep on climbing that path that you are on,
whether it takes you days, months or years,
to achieve through blood, sweat and tears,
beauty is in getting there, not becoming seers.

I have read this several times now—day before yesterday, yesterday, last night, then here I am, reading it yet again this morning. It is such a beautiful, well-thought-out piece. In my opinion, it is one of your very best. Bravo! To me it is a valuable piece of wisdom for the many who will read it to follow. We have goals set for ourselves and work hard to achieve them. Once we do, not only do we see our accomplishments laid out before us, but there in our view as well are all the individuals who helped us along the way. And even though we may have accomplished our goals in life, once we attain them, we find that there are other goals yet to achieve. There is always more to do. Ron, not only are you speaking to your broad audience of followers. You are speaking to the person who has spread this bit of wisdom along rhe way—that is, you are speaking to that man, Ron Hull, who is giving thanks to all who encouraged him mightily in his effort to accomplish his many challenges. You are saying we all need one another throughout life. I have driven to the summit of Pike’s Peak twice—all 14,110 ft. Both times I was driving a rental car. The second time, the car was packed to the brim, with four passengers and all the cargo it could hold. The car didn’t have a lot of power, and I thought the other three in the car with me might have to get out and push. It was quite a struggle, but that vehicle somehow managed to get to the top. Like us, it gave its all to make it to the top. And once there, what a view we had. It was like flying on the outside of a plane. May God bless you, Ron, and may He continue to bless and be with you during the continuation of your journey.
Your friend,
David
For me, I have not reached the top of my mountain yet, I'm still striving, but whatever knowledge I have gained along the path I am happy to share with others.
