Neighbors

We are all neighbors,

don'cha know.

Whole world over,

to and fro.

We befriend others,

our Facebook friends.

Across the world in,

ours and other lands.

There are no walls,

no flags, no creeds.

That keep us apart,

while the world bleeds.

Just our ignorance,

our fears and belief.

Keeping us from joining,

hands in great relief.

Tear down ideology walls,

those false nationalities,

those flag-waving creeds.

For better possibilities.

While the future leads.

The walls that divide us are often made of paper. Sometimes it's thick paper, like genuine parchment, and difficult to penetrate. But sometimes, it's like tissue paper. Easily torn through.

This wonderful poem contains a beautiful message, Ron! Here's hoping the better possibilities you mention come true in the future.

I am in full agreement, Ron. Be well.

We are all neighbors and more alike than we know. A treaty should always be foremost in our minds Ron. Thank you for sharing such an idealistic verse with me. :)

Ron, this is the most beautiful thing I've read of yours. I love it. It's graceful and open and seems like the distillation of the best message and medicine there could ever be for mankind to actually live the second half of that word 'man kind.' I love that you have these feelings and am enriched by reading these lines the exact way you wrote them. Thank you ~~ djl

And what a wonderful world it would be if only we could. A well written inspirational piece.

A great plea in the spirit of cooperative adventure that will probably never happen, particularity in the climate of today's world that is so divisive and polarizing. The two party system of the US government is a prime example of how people cannot get along, driving as they are by power and money. Ho hum.

What a wonderful, peaceful and happier
world this would be if we could all do as the
poem suggests Ron…
So much IS based on ignorance and fear…
I believe the basic human feeling is for
cooperation….I hope in the not too distant
future this can be achieved…

In a few words, you've given the reader much to think about in this digital age of connections. Yes, it's much easier to address another as a neighbor if the fences, walls, and overgrowth of shielding nature were not in our thinking. Liked how simple this plea was. Kudos.
