Studies show that most humans have no free will. By circumstance of their genetics and environment, they bond with and remain loyal to any strong leader in their midst, regardless of where that leader takes them. When leadership provides safe haven by ridiculous borders, we have disputes and wars that seem endless.

Borders

All creatures evolving on the earth,

are bordered by their circumstance of birth.

By river, mountain, ocean, heat or cold,

contained within these boundaries till old.

Birds of the air are free to fly,

but their flight territories bordered by.

Fish of the oceans free to swim,

but not free to swim in water's grim.

But humans have no borders, bounds.

Wherever we go, creating new towns.

We create boundaries with property rights,

with mores, edicts, laws and legal fights.

No limits to discovery of time and space,

finding out what boundaries need replace.

A fine line between grace and disgrace.

Ignorant mores and borders we must replace.

We must create borders by war no more.

You reminded me of some of the things I learned in American History classes. Thing like how cattle and sheep were often kept free range until others came in intent on building fences, and the wars that broke out between them. And what about the American Indians who once roamed free on the plains only to be displaced by emigrates who violated ancient tribal lines in their quests for gold and land? And now there are those who would reinforce borders with steel and concrete.

I just read about a wall built by New Mexicans to separate their state from Texas. Onstensively it's meant to signify their desire to keep Texans out. Quite humorous, but still a valid, if ironic, sign of the times.

THIS PLIGHT IS NEVER GOING AWAY, RONALD. THOSE WHO CAN MAKE A CHANGE ARE REALLY TOO 'SEASONED' TO DOING THINGS THERE WAY AND, REGARDLESS OF THE HARM IT DOES, IN THE LONG RUN(SUBJECTIVE OFFICIALS ARE SUPPORTED AND LINE THEIR POCKETS)IT IS LUCRATIVE, SO...THAT IS THAT. 'BORDERS' ARE 'WRONG'(THE WORLD'S PRESENT STATE TESTIFIES TO THIS)AND SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH...LOVE! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS TIMELY REMINDER. LOVE,BLESSINGS AND FAITH...+HIS...INSPIRATIONS.

Well done review of the world border situation. Saddest part, it's not looking any better in the future. Yet, like my latest posting, "Bestial Animal Atrocities" borders here are different, but provide the same satisfaction for those finding much profit in actions lacking moral and principled values. Thanks for posting. We can't be reminded enough.

Hmmn, nice try. The idea of borders is a tricky one and needs a clear focus. I see a bit a jumping around from stanza to stanza, attempting to come to terms with this idea of borders, "Birds fly but have borders", "fish swim but have borders", "Human's don't have borders but we create them." You give a few examples. No limits (borders) to time and space and the final line: "We must create borders by war no more," sounding as an unfinished cry seeking resolution. As I aid, nice try.
