As we near the end, and we all do. It is time to repair and mend. Make sure we don't leave any loose ends.

Time to Repair

When the smell of spring is in the air,

it's time to clean and what repair,

damage done by many winters' leave,

from base of the foundation to the eave.

A time to breathe easy, a time to mend.

A time to take stock, all the way to the end.

For to leave things in shambles is not right,

when we go into that deep dark night.

Put things in order and clear the cobwebs,

for all around, new life comes forth, ebbs.

Seasonal, not like the more often tides,

but also important for what there, abides.

So one can relax, turn face to burning sun,

bask in the summer heat one more time,

before this life, this life of plenty, is done.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL METAPHOR FOR ME, MY FRIEND. FOR THIS...'TIME OF REPAIR'...IS NOT JUST FOR THE PHYSICAL THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN DAMAGED BY 'WINTER'... BUT FOR OUR OWN HEARTS, SOUL AND MINDS, WHICH OF COURSE, BEING HUMAN...WILL ALWAYS NEED REPAIRING IN THIS LIFE, BUT NOT THE NEXT... (-:
LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPSIRATIONS

I read this and had a giggle because i left my garden a mess last fall and now i pay the price. This poem painted a vivid picture of the garden, and the ravages that winter can cause.. loved it so much

Your seasonal consciousness transcends the obvious and takes us into the subtext of renewal, gratefulness and respect for Mother Nature's way of keeping both weather and humaneness reminded of constant change. Yes, for senior thinking, "Time to Repair" can take on many meanings and purposes. All in all, giving credence to the cycle of all life in all its manifestations is just plain healthy. Everything lives longer with respect being part of its existence... as you adroitly point out in this short, but meaningful assessment.

Lovely, Ron! My spirit is in sync with yours:) I've been cleaning out the chick brooder house and doing all sorts of odds and ends around the place. Disturbed more than a few spiders and mice. But it's time for them to clean house, too, so I don't feel too bad.

Thanks for the upbeat message. Have a blessed Easter weekend!

I like the unhurried pace of this poem. It reminds me to take the time to simply enjoy the many facets of spring. Put things in order and clear the cobwebs," indeed!
