I want to turn cartwheels on the new spring grass,

Do summersaults and skip around the block.

I want to twirl and spin, dancing ‘neath the stars,

And climb to the top of Ben Lomond Peak,

Shouting out my joy.

Instead, tears of relief and gratitude,

Dampen this page as I write.

It didn’t sink in at first,

I was afraid to believe it was so.

The results of the latest test for my sister,

Where a doctor bore past bone to her new marrow.

From his vacation spot, her doctor called her, elated,

All looked great, no leukemia, no concerns.

The transplant has worked, In time she will be fine.

The hours, days and months of her suffering all worth it,

She has a new blood type, that of her generous donor,

A+ to go with her A+ personality.
