We have a beautiful pair of great horned owls in our barn--what a gift!

Poem Artwork

He looked at me,

Searing,

Deep into my soul.

I wonder what he saw there,

What did he want me to know,

Did he have a message for me alone?

I stood there, staring back,

But it was too intense,

I was the first to look away.

But the feel of his stare,

Is with me still,

Along with my emotional response.

Now you just march right back there and stare away! Who, who who is he to give you the evil eye? Just make sure your small dogs aren't with you. Patrick

I can identify with this feeling in your nice poem. There are owls in the wooded area behind me and they do instill awe. Well stated.

How gorgeous he is, you are so lucky to have nature right in your own backyard...Lovely poem to honor such a creature.

Much peace, love and light,

What he saw was more beautiful than what you saw.

If he was sending you a message, it was, "Never change!"

So glad you saw a horned owl. Was it a first, or have you seen
them before?

A small brown and gray owl took up residence on our deck for a short
while. Fascinating!

Hear owls hoot in the woods that surround us. Sound fakey, y'know?
Exactly like we write it: "too whooo, too whooo..."

Guess they are owls.;)

Enjoyed, as a boy visiting my Uncle at his horse barns I remember seeing one and staring fascinated at him. They have a way of seemingly looking into a human's soul.

I don't think he had any deep philosophical questions to ask you, Karen, I think he was just trying to say, Hey, I'm here, you got a problem with that?
