I wanted to begin clearing out the debris in my little garden area this morning, but it just was not to be. I have added a photo of two of my kitties, Alexandria (Alex) on the left and Cassandra (Cassie) on the right They are two years old. Cherokee would not stay still long enough for me to take a picture. She is my seven year old. A dipiction of a typical morning.
The window.........
Looked out my window to see my backyard,
thinking it is a good day to clean my tiny farm.
Walked over to the door to open the window,
here come my girls running all full of charm.
Purring and meowing they patiently wait,
for the window to open for them to look out.
A spare screen I put up to keep them inside,
power in numbers, yet they sit and pout.
A platform I made with a soft pillow on top,
is pushed to the window so all may sit.
Scrunched down, stalking the birds they see,
so many squawking, are they having a fit?
Each become silent, taking this all in,
stiffening up, watching, ready to pounce.
Birds getting too close, driving my girls wild, hit their head on the screen but stayed in the house.
My parakeets chimed in with the outside birds,
all this chatter and not one spoken word.
Here I was hoping to clean up my garden,
then it became quiet, not a sound was heard.
Cherokee walked off, guess she had enough,
time for a cat nap, she demands no sound.
Alex and Cassie left to sleep on their blanket,
first they knead the dough to form a mound.
Outside birds are leaving, time to move along,
new places to go, in search of more food.
No more chatter, my parakeets are quiet,
Maybe now I can go out, clean up the ground.

again you turned something everyday and turned it into an enthralling masterpiece tender and a real tribute to your cats. I have a semi-bald blck cat who goes by the name of ebony.

For me, a cat is stimulus enough to go out and work in a garden. My Picaro (spanish: Mischief Maker), is a loving Garfield type cat who helps me clip weeds...by tearing at them with his claws, when he sees me digging with the 3-pronged metal claw.
Yesterday, though, he got into newly budding Catnip, and it was my
FINGERS he started raking! Gently though. And I WAS wearing gloves.
