              Colorful Caravans.......

Oh how magnificent, spring has arrived,
flowers are blossoming, trees budding.
Skies darken filled with welcome rain,
sometimes though, just a bit of flooding.

A time when all flourish in abbundance,
so thirsty after a long winter sleep.
Grass turning green, bushes have berries,
bunnies standing in mud almost knee deep.

On the highway approach colorful caravans,
not a carnival, nor a circus, but stars nonetheless.
Each all shiny, noisy and new,
the kind we line up for to touch and caress.

Soon to be blasted by forty three engines,
dirt, debris, rubber, fire, gas and sand.
Favorite perfume is Octane Ninety-nine,
sharing with my hubby arm in arm, hand in hand.

Fighting the crowds, people in funny clothes,
each displaying their favorite teams.
Green, red, orange, yellow and blue for Fee,
hear the engines roar, and the crowd's screams.

Filling the refrigerator, tires and water tank,
time to prepare that RV, much at stake.
Soda, beer, sandwiches, macaroni salad,
chicken, fruit, ice cream, cup cakes, steak.

Barbeque grill, corn on the cob, hot dogs too,
bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, coffee a must.
Parties and shopping, weaving in and out,
sun up to sun down, nothing short of a bust.

Five days of fun, new people to meet,
stories to hear and stories to share.
Always losing my voice from yelling too loud,
collecting autographs from everywhere.

The first three days they all come with us,
the last two is beyond what they can stand.
Three Stewart shirts the kitties will wear,
two Earnhardt shirts for the puppies grand.

Not to worry all the pets will be safe,
in the wee hours, we are aimed home bound.
Food, fresh water, treats for all,
then make our way back to sacred ground.

Now we must go, so much left to do,
one day left to prepare, the excitement rises.
We will return early next week,
with stories to share and perhaps surprises.

               Love and miss all!

Nice lookin' rig, but keep that Class C, don't go to class A as they are so much a big GAS-EATER...We own a Class A, Southwind, and it literally sucks up fuel, especially with a car attached like we had...it got 5 mpg that trip to Missouri...take care, Ed

I am soooo jealous of you two but know you deserve and enjoy NASCAR as much as I do. (Like the great win at Matinsville huh?) and I know you have your two favorites to cheer for but maybe now and then during the race you can spin your hat around and yell "Run Jimmy run..." just for me. LOL You did a great job in this write of capturing all the excitment, adrenaline, joy and just plain fun of going to a NASCAR race... see you when you return and look forward to seeing some pictures.
