            The Bell Tolls.....

With heavy heart now missing a beat,
and eyes swollen shut from tears.
Saying good-bye is never easy,
to a life known for many, many years.

The Bell Tolls.....

Remember Washington, Adams, Franklin,
and signers of our solemn Declaration.
Now being muddied, completely disregarded,
a pox on all for this abomination.

The Bell Tolls.....

A simple experiment never tried before,
completely erased by the click of a pen.
Now mankind herded like mere animals,
at the mercy of the new plantation den.

The Bell Tolls.....

The underlying cause of ridding King George,
was from the tyranny imposed on us all.
Oh where are the leaders to step to the plate,
listen to our pleas, hear the distant call.

The Bell Tolls.....

Our once proud country slowly dies,
painfully tortured by one hundred strokes.
The air we breathe, the abode for cover,
a tax on exhale for all us folks.

The Bell Tolls.....

Doctors we see, medicine sanctioned,
not to worry the plantation will decide.
Too old, sick, not working, unproductive,
who is helped, who is pushed aside.

The Bell Tolls.....

Living a do not resuscitate lifestyle,
television viewing, no power, lights dim.
Internet czars, telephone czars,
scales in restaurants now food a whim.

The Bell Tolls.....

Supermarkets closing one at a time,
not enough for the populous to go around.
Cap and trade coming down the pike,
running what is left well below ground.

The Bell Tolls.....

What will you do, how will you explain,
you had it all and willingly gave away.
Circle your calendar, this day in history,
look to your children what you will say.

The Bell Tolls.....

America will over come. It will find the spine of its founding fathers. However, strength is born out of weakness.
The country needs to prize away the media's lies.

One very powerful penn. I'm just reading about one of your greatest, his diaries. Ronald Reagan. Some how he made everything seem positive, with that twinkle in his eye.

Karen, a profound statement of our nation's spiral into socialism at the hands of the politicos -- too noble, many freedom loving, democratically minded citizens still exist to permit this thing to carry on for too much longer -- elections have a way of ridding the government of those that would intentionally do its citizens harm -- "the rule of law", liberty and justice for all will return to this America that we so dearly love -- we, you and I, and all of the other patriotic citizens are the modern guard of Washington's, Adams et al -- may peace love and justice overwhelm our great nation -- Jon Michael

The Bell Tolls chronicles our country's status...every century has had a reformative period, some for the good, some bad. History does repeat itself...it's a world cycle...a good side to it is there are some things on the rebound, some just don't know it yet...and always a point to remember here...most people in today's society live way beyond their means...simplicity is really finding its way back, Karen...I want to wish you a very Happy Holiday season...Blessed Be.

Love,
Sage

Yes Karen, we are slowly losing our rights and our liberties. We are not progressing but regressing....So what are we suppose to do, throw away the bell?????
Great stuff here, and I can feel your passion.
Much peace, love, and light and blessings during this holiday season!

Karen, this is profoundly deep but rings all too clearly as the truth of not just your country but of mine (Canada) as well. For those who study history, read history or even watch current events all the criteria for a major upheaval are moving into place. Ironically as we do look back at history perhaps that is just what it will take...a group of men such as our ancestors and another civil war to rebuild a country on it's way downhill. I hope not for the loss of life seldom justifies that extreme.

Karen,

You know how I feel about this -

From my poem, 'Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid' (c) 2009

Government by, for the people --
not when they go ahead, do what
they were planning anydamnway.
(They won't know. Or care.) We don't need
their approval: got it when they
voted us in. .... they will obey
like the slaves they are. They have no
choice. .... We know what's best.
We're the government. We're their friends.

With friends like this, who needs enemies?!? God help us.

Powerfully penned dirge for the death of Liberty. And freedom is next to go!!!!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

A most excellent piece of work Karen. Yes, they're moving fast with their agenda. But it ain't over till it's over. This will end badly...for them! Do not be afraid. Do not cower. Dare to make your voice heard. It takes only one candle to bring darkness to light.
