Heavenly sign....

Early morning when all is quiet,
few birds lining up in the rain outside.
Orchestrated songs permeate the room,
allowing body and mind to absorb inside.

Kitties asleep at the foot of the bed,
hoping to dream for another hour or two.
No sun rising on this wonderful day,
only rain coming down all day through.

Oh, Lord there is so much to prepare,
but need to reflect on what came before.
Thank you God for your power and strength,
keeping us strong when we were not sure.

Been a rough month of uncertainty,
the rain equals the tears that flow.
Blood tests, x-rays, ultra-sound,
biopsy next, then we will know.

Thank you God for hearing our prayers,
biopsy not needed, medication is fine.
Each new day she grows stronger yet,
this I take as a heavenly sign.

Special excitement begins to fill the air,
with utter exuberance and a chance to play.
Pitter, patter of eight tiny feet,
closer they come to begin a new day.

New party dresses with ribbons and bows,
soft stuffed animals to toss and fling.
Pair of steps to climb up and down,
this day they can do any old thing.

But this is not just any other day,
must make puppy ice cream, puppy cake too.
This is a day filled with smiles and laughter,
more to celebrate than a birthday for two.
