Poem Artwork

Based on fact, I had and Aunt Julia
whom I looked and acted like, she
was my icon
~*~

The evening air was so lovely for
Winter, I left the window open
My Aunt Julie's house was
always stuffy,and smelled of food

It also smelled of lemon wax
which I loved, and ever after
Lemons would bring memories
Of the times I spent in her home

Aunt Julia was my moms younger sister
She was known for her odd behavior
Also her flirtatious way with men
Even though married with children

She never did anything the way others do
Even her death was a fluke accident
After jumping off a horse she tripped
And hit her head on a rock,a fatal blow

Her daughter ,my cousin Lorraine,was
Also in the house,I was helping her sort
Some things to keep, before the house sale
Our last night,2 weeks after her moms death

In bed I felt the breeze from the window
And in me, the bon vivant spirit of my Aunt
I was half asleep and heard a horse neighing
Next thing I knew I was riding it in a fast gallop
Then it stopped abruptly throwing me off

I got up unhurt, climbed back on, trembling
Back at the house, I heard aunt Julie's voice
"You aren't really like me my dear, you lived"
I got back in bed, and lay there in shock

Afterward when I woke my cousin at 1:oo a.m.
She said I looked like I'd seen a ghost
When I told her what happened she said it
was a dream, of course that's what it had to be

Except that Aunt Julie's horse ran away that
Night ,and never returned, and was never found
A neighbor later said he saw a woman riding it
At the same time I had been on it in the "dream"

Funny how we, as mortals pass the paranormal off in some way that our feeble, earth bound minds can understand, like yeah it was a dream. Yes it probably was your sweet aunt. They have a way of letting us know they are ok and we can move on without sorrow, knowing they are in a better place.

It is with great sadness to learn the mysterious way your aunt julia had died but I'm happy that she paid a visit to you in a dream. Wonderfully articulated story in a poetic manner. GBQ

Whoa! Are you sure this was a dream?? Sounds like something you were actually living through, perhaps your spirit was set free that night to forever roam in peace....

Be safe,

Who's to say what's real or fake. But, I know the joy I felt when I was visited by my son a few months after he died. It was/is as real as the sky is blue. Like me, I hope you enjoy the beauty of what transpired. It has brought me a lot of comfort.

You are blessed by having your Aunt Julia visit you.

I have seen a few of these out of body experiences in some pentecostal churches where I was raised . . . I never believed in them then and can't say that I do now . . . Not a put down, just my observation . . .

I find it unusally odd that so many disbelieve in the spirit world as we know it... and in our infinate minds... Loved this one Eileen in particular... I'll share a story with you behind closed doors, blessings, Holly

I used to give "dream" workshops. We had one lady that had out of body experiences during dreamtime. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on who she visited, she slept in the nude and would often visit the workshop participants. We encouraged her to wear a nighty. My how we enjoyed that workshop...and how interesting it was.

You have some wonderful memories, and I am sure you view this dream much differently now, knowing she was communicating with you during a time of sorrow. Most times, we think it is our imagination.

Enjoyed reading.

Love,
Bette

Out of body happens frequently. I dream of technicolored travels and wake up completely exhausted. My friend is vacationing in Columbia, S.A. and recently I awoke from a dream of there with lusk flora and fauna and beautiful black haired people who had beautiful chiseld faces and my friend introducing me to his friend who owns a restaraunt. The next day got an email about the restaraunt and how I would love it and the people. he describes it as though he were in my dream. I know you and I are intuative Sis. This just gives it credability.
Love,
Susna
