This morning as the mist surrounded me I felt enveloped within a kind of cocoon surreal activities invaded my senses those shrouded shapes that I see usually familiar to me, are now indefinable
In a strange way I feel at peace in my eerie realm I escape from the reality of sight into the solitude of shadow~I let my mind define what it wants to~loosing my imagination
I snuggle closer into my sweater as a damp chill comes over me~I join in the atmosphere like a vapor ~immersed in the mist waiting for the sun to burn away its existence and set us free
excellent poem ... the warmth of knowledge will always warm our souls ... i just wonder, when your mind defines what it wants to, haven't you found imagination? just a thought ...
In a strange way I feel at peace in my eerie realm
I escape from the reality of sight
And I can relate to this very well, Tiger Lily. I've often gotten up before dawn, and gone out onto a mist shrouded lake in my boat, and just sat out there silently in the mist - taking it all in. And I very often feel at peace when that occurs.
Like Tammy Wynette said, "stay by your man" and you will never get lost in the fog, or solitude, or sadness, as you wrap yourself with that love sweater...

The mist has always been a sign for reflection for me.Here, we've had some very dangerous fog compounded with the forest fires. Your words are quiet and don't dare upset the atmosphere of the misted morning. I am surrounded within your weather but removed thousands of miles away.
Love,
Susan
What you need is a foghorn, so we wont loose you Eileen, somtimes it's best not to see to far , and pay more attention to what is close and inside, this is a good time, let the inner eye see instead.
Nice wrap around the scene with poetic words! Blessings!Jasmin Horst
This opens my eyes to the ones who can't...and how, blindness enhances our senses...so to speak.
I often said, if I had to live without one of my senses, please God, never let it be my eyes! ...But, maybe, if I knew, if I could perceive even more...Can that be so bad, after all?
"They" say, when one sense looses it's ability, others take over! ...it seems you went there, still...
Excellent write Eileen!
Excellent!

There is always light at the end of the tunnel and in what you describe the sun burns away the mist and all is well again. Good positive poem for those of us caught in the blanket of life that fogs over us now and then.

So well written I can visualize you sitting there, hunched over, sweater pulled tightly about you . . . Waiting for warmth . . . Excellent!!!!!
ET, such a aloneness in this poem, but a feeling of introspection. We always seem to be on the same wave length these days. I am enjoying my solitude and thank my higher spirit every day for my beautiful life, the amazing people here at AD, that have become such an intricate part of my daily living, and of course for my loving children, who make my life so very fulfilled.
See what your beautiful poem makes me do, feel grateful for being alive!
Peace, love, and light,

we are expecting the fog to arrive here tomorrow along with single digit temps, lately i feel like i'm experiencing energy in waves and swirls, its a dizzying affect
Jason Chase, a man filled with personal demons, only wanted to finish his manuscript. But all his carefully laid plans disappear when a stranger showed up at his front door claiming to be his long-lost father.
