I have always loved riding on the motorcycle, but for the past few years I had forgotten how free it felt, due to my hips not wanting to work with me,I had to leave the riding behind. It would break my heart to watch my husband ride of alone, although I always encouraged him to go. We have one life to live, don't stop now. There were times he said he was going to sell the bike because he didn't enjoy it as much without me on the back, which was sweet of him to say. Well a few weeks ago he purchased a new Ultra Glide Harley with a very comfortable seat, especially for me and I have been taking advantage of it, I may not be able to ride as long as I'd like but I can ride for a few hours as I proved today, freedom rides.

Freedom Rides

Strap that helmet on real tight,
For the long ride that lay ahead,
You're going to be good and tired ,
Tonight as you rest in your bed.

Down that long, winding, dusty road,
The sun beating from the sky,
I tell you dear that freedom rides,
Live life till you die.

Freedom rides, wind in your hair,
All in a world of your own,
Forgetting all your aches and pain,
Until at night you return home.

I tell you, freedom rides,
Like a life you've never known,
When you ride in a group,
Or chose to ride alone.

Messed up hair, racoon eyes,
 Dust blowing wild and free,
Singing tunes to the top of our lungs,
Just enjoying life, you and me.

Down that long, winding, dusty road,
The sun beating from the sky,
I tell you
dear that freedom rides,
So live life till you die.

Rose, sounds like you and Fred had a great ride, yes live life as if it is your last day. That is the only way to go girl. Words beautifully put together. I can almost feel the wind in my hair and laughter of singing aloud like that.
Love You sis

I love you, not in the way a man loves a bike or a child, but in that special way. The way only two people connected as one can love, truly, deeply and without; but why?
Even when your not there, you are, always remember this...

Sounds like you had a great time on your run today and I am so glad. You and Fred have many miles of open road ahead of you to explore together...I am jealous. Great write and one that shoud be submitted to some of the motercycle enthusiasts magazines.

Hugs.
