Celebrating My Life

Today should be a happy day,
I want you to celebrate my wonderful life,
I was a wonderful Wife and a great Mom,
Always caring for  you at home,
Where I felt I belonged.

I had many trades through the years;
Failing you would have been my biggest fear.
I was your Doctor, your Teacher & friend
I taught you to love & understand,
To be the best that you can.

I sewed, I cooked, I cleaned & wrote a book.
I taught you many things through your life
To help one another through good & strife
Share a smile wipe away another’s tears,
Not to be afraid to show others you cared.

I was a loving Mom & a grandmother,
A sister to three sisters & four brothers,
Loving & caring for all those I could,
Doing for others what I felt I should,
Not always what others thought I would.

I lived a wonderful life through the years,
Constantly fighting off my own fears.
Nervous & afraid of each dark lonely night,
Tried not to complain, that wouldn’t be right,
So I hid my tears with all my might.

I was your greatest guide,
I led you to where you are today,
I need you to celebrate my life in a loving way,
My memories of how I lived & loved,
Each of you every single day.

I will always be an important part of your life,
For this is who you will remember for eternity
Your loving Mom and devoted Wife.
Knowing that each of you have indeed,
Made me over the years so very happy.
