Weeks and weeks
Of no work,
No income,
Means
I am dependent
Upon family
For the timebeing
As I await
The government's
Decision
On my disability appeal.
How I hate this!
How I loathe having to ask
For the slightest convenience
As I watch my dreams
Grow further
And further
Away.
These are difficult times
For so many
And I am ashamed
Of my whining,
Ashamed of my inability
To work.
But perhaps
Some bureaucrat
Will take pity on me
And not force me to wait
Much longer.
It took seven years for a friend of mine to get on disability. The only good thing is they have to pay back pay for all that time. Whatever you do, don't let the negative decisions go without appealing them.
I know how you feel for I am also on disability. The problem is, is that even after you get it, it's not enough to live on. Yes it helps, but I have had to actually eat ramen noodles three times a day for months just so that I could pay my bills. I still do at times, only sometimes lately I've only been able to eat twice a day in order to have enough to make it through the month. Sometimes though when one has to choose between two evils? The least evil wins all the time. I'm just grateful for the ramen noodles.
Write to the President, outline what is going on. Send copies to your Senators And Congressmen. Send copies to your local and national news media. Someone will hear you and help. Don't give up be as tough as they are and they will have to give you what is rightfully yours.
I hear ya, 'cause I am in the same predicament. Three years now; very frustrating! And when I DO hear something, they keep saying I am NOT disabled ENOUGH! GRRRRR!! Hope you get approved; hope I get approved! I hate this too; I feel for you!

Becca, the only way to get them stiffs going is to bother the jeebezes outa them, so nag nag nag, they will help your case just for the heck of no seeing you again. It works!
